Wilbur “Glen” Seward, 72, of Northglenn, Colo., died Jan. 12, 2006, in Thornton, Colo. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, at the Church of the Nazarene in Winterset. Burial with military rites, will follow at St. Charles Cemetery. Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, Jan. 18) from 6-8 p.m. at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola.

Glen Seward was born Jan. 31, 1933, to Lyle and Goldie Seward of Peru and graduated from Winterset High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and achieved the rank of first lieutenant, preparing pilots in the air and in the classroom for service in the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Gamble of St. Charles during his service time. Glen’s professional career included working in Indianapolis, Ind., as an air traffic controller. He later returned to Iowa to work for Iowa Beef and then returned to government work as a revenue officer, retiring from the United States Treasury Department following 35 years of service. A Colorado resident for many years, he was a charter member of the Cottonwood Lakes Church of the Nazarene.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Velma McKeever. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, of Northglenn, Colo.; four sons, the Rev. Michael Seward of Kimberly, Idaho, Jeff Seward of Nampa, Idaho, Doug Seward of Northglenn, Colo. and Kevin Seward of St. Charles; two brothers Loren Seward of Suisun City, Calif., and Harold Seward of Winterset; a sister, Janice Halterman of Winterset; and nine grandchildren.
