Florence May Searl, 91, died of a heart ailment Nov. 17, 1999, at Winterset Care Center South.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 22, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with Pastor John Shaull officiating. Burial was at Barney Cemetery in Monroe Township, Madison County.
Florence Searl was born Jan. 18, 1908, to Jesse and Odess (Deeder) Palmer of Monango N. D. She married Robert Melton Searl on Nov. 9, 1928, in Newton. Florence, a homemaker, was a resident of Winterset for the past 31 years, having previously resided in Murray.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, two brothers, two sisters and a son-in-law.
She is survived by a son, David Searl of Lorimor; three daughters, Betty Harper of Winterset, Velda James (husband Gerald) of Urbandale and Evalene Hannah of Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Florence May Searl, 91, of Winterset, died November 17, 1999 of a heart ailment at Winterset Care Center South. Visitation will be Nov. 21 from 12-8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 22, at Collins Funeral Home with Father Ed Pfeffer officiating. Burial will follow in Barney Cemetery in Madison County.
She was born Jan. 18, 1908 in Monango, North Dakota to Jesse and Odess (Deeder) Palmer. She married Robert Melton Searl on Nov. 9, 1928 in Newton. She was a homemaker and a resident of Winterset for the past 31 years having come from Murray.
