Dorothy Hartman, Murray

Dorothy Maxine Hartman, 78, of Murray, died of a heart attack August 20, 1997, in her home. Funeral services were August 26 at the Church of Christ in Murray with the Pastor Brian McCracken of Murray officiating. Burial followed at the Union Cemetery in Clarke County.

She was born March 14, 1919, in Albion, to George and Louella (Bridgeman) Lawton.

She went to Peru Schools and on June 3, 1943 she married Orvie Felix Hartman in Des Moines. She was employed at Murray Products, and was a member of the Women's Bible Study Group, American Legion Auxiliary, Sewing Club, and the Murray Church of Christ in Murray.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers; and one grandson.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Judy Hartman of Des Moines, Donna Johnson and husband Dan of Murray; two sons, Tom Hartman and wife Karen of Murray, Jim Hartman of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Rex Lawton of Palmyra, Neb., Dick Lawton of Syracuse, Neb.; one sister, Helen Kashus of Greenfield; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be directed to the Church of Christ in Murray.
