Hubert Laurel Simpson, Winterset

Graveside services for Hubert Laurel Simpson, 83, were held Fri., Feb. 28 at Barney Cemetery with the Rev. William Branson officiating. Military services were also held by V. F. W. Post #8192. Mr. Simpson died of a heart attack February 25 at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Des Moines.

A lifelong Madison County resident, he was born February 10, 1909, the son of Pascel and Jennie (Read) Simpson. He was a custodian for North Ward Plaza, World War II U. S. Army veteran and a member of the Winterset V.F.W.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Survivors include his life-long friend and companion. Easter Allen of Winterset.

Collins Funeral Home handled arrangements.
