ELLA BOCK

Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Bock, 91, Cascade, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 21, from the Devaney Funeral Home to the Cascade Community Church. The Rev. John Flahiff officiated. Burial was at the Cascade Cemetery.

Casketbearers were Ed Ganfield, Robert Ganfield, Duane Martin and Forbert Ganfield, Duane Martin and Paul Rose.

Mrs. Bock was born July 1, 1884, at Cascade, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Jane (Patterson) Ganfield. She was married to the Rev. Peter Bock in 1908 at Cascade. She was a member of the Missionary Society.

She is survived by nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Peter, who died in December of 1951, three brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Ella Bock was a resident of Earlham for many years. Her husband Rev. Peter Bock was pastor of the Earlham Presbyterian Church from 1926 for five years. She took a special interest in the choir and work of the women's organization during his pastorate. She also served as Sunday School Superintendent for a time. They continued to live in the Earlham community after his retiement and spent several winters in Florida where he passed away in 1951.

Mrs. Bock especially enjoyed the work of the Chatauqua Club of which she was a long time member. She was always interested in the children and youth of the community and attended the school activites as long as she was able.

Mrs. Bock remained an active and faithful member of the Presbyterian Church until 1972 when she went to Cascade, Iowa to be with relatives. Her passing leaves many friends in the Earlham community.
