Death of Mrs. Martha Frye

Mrs. Martha Frye, oldest daughter of the late William B. Ruby, of this place, died at her home in Denver, Colorado, on Saturday, June 15th.

Mrs. Frye was born on the Fourth of July, 1832, and would have reached her 97th birthday had she lived a week or two longer.

She came with her father's family from eastern Ohio to Winterset, in 1852, when she was 20 years old and after her marriage to Jacob Frye, lived for a number of years on the Ruby farm, just east of town. Later, she, with her family, removed to Great Bend, Kansas, and 35 years ago, after the death of her husband, she moved to Denver, where, with her daughter, she had since resided.
