MAYME C. BLACK

Mayme C. Black, 69, of Winterset passed away Wednesday, January 15, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital.

Mayme C. Anderson was born to Oscar and Sophie Anderson on May 30, 1905 in Andover, Illinois. She had been a Madison County resident for 25 years.

She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and worked as a bookkeeper for Mills Motors.

Mayme was united in marriage to Eugene D. Black, December 29, 1929 at Des Moines. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1952.

She is survived by one son, Laverne Black of Earlham; a daughter, Lola Bruett of Winterset; five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving: brother and sisters, Francis Anderson of St. Charles, Illinois; Marjorie Martens and Pearl Martens of Martensdale, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset January 17, with Pastor G. O. Wangberg officiating. Casket bearers were: Philip Martens, Melvin Martens, Earl Eichner, Robert Cline, Steven Black and Rick Bruett. Interment was in the Norwalk Cemetery, Norwalk, Iowa.
