Obituary

Mrs. Mary A. McDonald Binns, the daughter of Crossby and Amanda Clarke McDonald, was born in Madison County, Iowa on October 19, 1883. When she departed from this earthly life, while a patient in the Madison County Memorial Hospital at Winterset, Iowa, she had reached the age of 83 years 10 months, and 10 days. Most of her life had been spent in and around Madison County.

On December 17, 1903, in Madison County, she was united in marriage to James A. Binns who preceded his wife in death on November 11, 1963. to this union was born 5 children: Opal (Mrs. Carl Busch) of Casey, Iowa; Curtis Binns of Adel; Maxine (Mrs. George Wilkie) of Menlo; Wayne Binns of Plantation Isle, Florida; and Lois (Mrs. Clifford Peters) of Perry, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Binns was preceded in death by her parents, 2 grandchildren, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers.

In addition to her children, Mrs. Binns is survived by 1 brother, Henderson McDonald of Salem, Oregon, 12 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and numerous friends.

Mrs. Binns was a member of the 60 Plus Club, the Lily of the Valley Club and the Women's Society of Christian Service of the First Methodist Church of Winterset, with which she was affiliated.

Memorial services, conducted by the Reverend Everett K. Burham of the First Methodist Church of Winterset, Iowa, were held in the Wilson Funeral Home at 2:00 P.m. on August 31, 1967. Burial was in the Resthaven Cemetery at West Des Moines.
