Francis B. Hochstetler, was born October 20, 1909 in Winterset, Iowa, the son of Charles Henry and Lillian (May) Hochstetler. His marriage to Dorothy Morrissey took place in Winterset on January 8, 1948.

Francis was a farmer all of his life, a member of the Penn Center Methodist Church and Farm Bureau. When he was younger he raised horses and he always enjoyed tinkering with machinery; but his greatest joy was being a farmer.

Francis died at his home surrounded by his family on July 13, 2004 at the age of 94.

Francis is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hochstetler of Dexter; a daughter, Ann McKibbin and her husband, Kenneth of DeSoto; three sons, Clair Hochstetler and wife, Pat of Dexter; Dennis Hochstetler and wife, Paulette of Winterset; Stephen Hochstetler and his wife, Mayumi of Honolulu, Hawaii; a sister, Anna Brown of Earlham; a sister-in-law, Lelah Luckinbill of Dexter; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Hochstetler; a sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Bob Towns; a brother-in-law, Ernie Brown and a grandson, Michael Bayliss.

Interment was at Penn Center Cemetery.
