Ardys Carter, Truro

Ardys Ellen Carter, 69, of Truro died Jan. 7, 2006, at the Osceola Nursing and Rehab Center.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Blair Chapel Cemetery, South Township, Madison County, with the Rev. Bill Code officiating.

Ardys Carter was born May 2, 1936, to Dewey A. and Lavenia Lenore (Gripp) Cornell of New Virginia. She received her education in Des Moines, graduating from Lincoln High School.

On Oct. 6, 1956, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Eugene Carter in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. Following their marriage, they resided in California where Kenneth was stationed with the Marine Corps. They later moved to Des Moines, residing there until 1976 when they moved to Truro.

Ardys was a member of the Jolly Fu Club and Congregational United Church of Christ, both in Truro.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, LaVere and LaVon Cornell.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of Truro and a sister, G. Ruth Cornell of Indianola.
Arrangements were handled by Kale Funeral Homes of Osceola and Truro.
