JENNIE SAYRE Dies at St. Charles

Funeral services for Jennie A. Sayre, well-known resident of the St. Charles community, were held from the United Methodist Church there Monday afternoon, Aug. 14.

Mrs. Sayre died Thursday, Aug. 10, 1972, at her home in St. Charles. She was 81 years of age.

A daughter of Richie and Carrie Gilbert Anderson, she was born at St. Charles on Dec. 12, 1890. She was married to Ivan K. Sayre on Aug. 11, 1911 at St. Charles.

Dr. Sayre, a prominent St. Charles physician for many years, preceded her in death on Nov. 17, 1954.

Mrs. Sayre was active in a number of community organizations, and was a member of the W.S.C.S. of the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Jack A. Sayre of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and D. Rex Sayre of Davenport; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, A. G. Anderson and William F. Anderson, both of Des Moines; and one sister, Mrs. Oscar Coffman of Garland,Texas.

One son, Harry K. Sayre, died in infancy.

Officiating at the funeral service for Mrs. Sayre was the Rev. William L. Andre. Burial was in the St. Charles Cemetery.
