His beloved wife with whom he journeyed so many eventful years preceded him in death but a few months since which time he has resided with his son, Calvin, in South Dakota. When his symptoms became alarming, they brought him home to Stuart but he lived only about two weeks.

He leaves beside his two sons, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers, John of Greenfield; Joshua and Al both Adair County; two sisters, Mary Kirlin of Greenfield and Lib Hines of Arkansas; besides numerous other relatives and friends.

When those we love have come and gone,
'Tis weary to be left behind;
To miss sweet eyes where late they shone,
To look for what we may not find,
Long-cherished forms that haunt the mind,
Soft voices that were once too kind;
To live and miss them one by one
Is weary work. Who'd stay behind
When those we love have come and gone?

Services were held Monday, December 2, at Wahtawah church, conducted by the Rev. Mrs. Albery, with a trio consisting of Mrs. Ole Baker, Mrs.Jos. Wood and Mrs. Otis Godwin, with Miss Emily Varley, pianist. Interment was made in the family lot at the Wahtawah cemetery. The pall bearers were H. V. Skinner, Rudolph Hafner, W. Imes, M. D. Jones, Joe Laughlin and Wm. McLuen.
