L. L. BLOMGREN Died Monday

Lawrence L. Blomgren, a resident of Winterset for half a century and a prominent banker and public official here for many years, died Monday, Nov. 16, 1970, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 76 years of age.

Mr. Blomgren was a native of Gowrie, where he was born July 8, 1894, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Blomgren. He came to Winterset about 50 years ago as a bookkeeper at the old Winterset Savings bank. He advanced to cashier of that bank, and
later served as cashier of the Madison County Savings bank.

From 1954, until his retirement in 1967, he served as Madison county assessor.

He was married in Winterset on April 1, 1916, to Aletha Brown, who survives him.

Mr. Blomgren was a member of the First United Presbyterian church of Winterset. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic order.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Paul Blomgren, who is dean of the school of business at San Fernando Valley State college at Northridge, Calif.; four grandchildren, one great grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Daisie Pearson of California.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. from the First United Presbyterian church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. John E. Fink. Burial will be made in the Winterset Cemetery.
