THOMAS L. BEDWELL

Thomas Lester Bedwell, 81-year-old resident of Madison County, died January 6, 1973 at Madison Manor North, Winterset, which had been his home for the past three years due to illness.

Mr. Bedwell was born to Thomas Jefferson Bedwell and Hannah Josephine Hart on February 19, 1891 in Warren county. He was the last surviving member of that family, which included five sisters and three brothers.

Married to Helen Lenore Benson on May 20, 1913, Mr. Bedwell was a feed and car salesman in Madison County. He was a member of the Gospel Chapel Church in Des Moines and also held membership in the Royal Neighbors of America.

Surviving are five children: Gerald Bedwell, Paul Bedwell, and Blair Bedwell, all of Des Moines; Mrs. Beulah Osborn of Earlham and Mrs. Joan Collins of Los Angeles, California.

Mr. Bedwell is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and a daughter, Virginia May Bedwell.
