ANITA WILLISON BEESON

Anita Willison Beeson was born February 28, 1903 in Cass County, Iowa to Bert Willison and Nancy Gissible Willison. She was the oldest of six children. Anita married Ben Beeson, and they farmed until his retirement in 1960 when they moved to Earlham.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Charles (Bernice) Gard of Urbandale; three grandchildren-Steven, Rebecca and Karen Gard; three sisters-Mrs. Morris (Lela) Boyle of Dexter, Mrs. Chet (Arleen) Thrailkill of Dexter, and Mrs. Dorothy Fines of Clearwater, Florida; and two brothers-Lee Willison of Norwalk and Max Willison of West Des Moines.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on August 22, 1967 and her daughter Beverly who died in infancy.

Anita was a fifty year member of the Earlham O.E.S. She belonged to the Past Matrons Club, the Friendly Circle, the Earlham United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Mary Circle.

Services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. April 12, at the Earlham United Methodist Church. Burial was in the Penn Center Cemetery.

Anita A. Beeson, daughter of Bert and Nancy Gissible Willison, was born February 28, 1903 in Cass County, Iowa. On April 9, 1978, following a brief illness, she passed away at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 75 years, one month and 12 days.

On January 30, 1934 she was united in marriage to Ben Beeson. They were engaged in farming in the Penn Center area near Earlham until they retired at Earlham in 1960.

Anita was a member of the United Methodist Church, Friendly Circle Club, fifty-year member of the Order of Easter Star and a member of the Past Matrons Club.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Berniece) Gard, of Des Moines; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lela Boyle and Mrs. Arlene Thrailkill of Dexter and Mrs. Dorothy Fines of Clearwater Florida; two brothers, Lee of Norwalk and Max of West Des Moines.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and infant daughter.

Services were conducted in the United Methodist Church April 12, 1978 with the Rev. Dave Higdon officiating. Mrs. Gretchen Brittain provided organ music. Special services were given by the Earlham Chapter 294 of the Order of Eastern Star. Casket bearers were Chuck Anker, Les Goeldner, Gene Golightly, Orie Jones, Elery Mills and Earl Schalkle. Interment was at the Penn Center Cemetery.
