Death of Cecil Lucas

Cecil Merrill Lucas, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lucas of Indianola, died at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, Monday, September 16th.

Mr. and Mrs. Lucas and their family are former residents of Winterset. They moved to Indianola about eight years ago. While here, Mrs. Lucas was employed at the Fox grocery store and Mr. Lucas at the Adams Bros. grocery.

Cecil became ill about eight weeks ago. He was seventeen years old at the time of his death. He would have graduated from high school this year. Mrs. Erie Henderson, of Winterset, is his aunt and Tom Bedwell is an uncle.

Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Hill church at Indianola, Wednesday at 2 o'clock. Rev. Giddons, of Des Moines, conducted the services. He is survived by his parents and two sisters, Arlene, 7 years old, and Wanda, 4 years old.
