August 27, 2003Russell Junior Little, 76, died of a respiratory ailment Aug. 24, 2003, at Wintersest Care Center North. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset with Pastor Robert Barrick officiating. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. today (Wed., Aug. 27) with the family present from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Burial will be at
Hooten Cemetery, Lincoln Township, Madison County.Junior Little was born Sept. 21, 1926, in Madison County to Russell Guy and Phoebe Ester (Sweet) Little. On July 15, 1950, he married Alberta Rae Fosher in Davenport. A lifetime resident of Madison County, Junior had worked for the Madison County Secondary Road Department for 26 years as a heavy equipment operator and road superintendent, retiring in 1988. His memberships have included the Winterset Square Dancing Club and the First Christian Church in Winterset.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Grover Guy Little; and a grandson, Daron Travis Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta Rae Little of Winterset; a daughter, Juanita Jean Fettkether of Winterset; a son, Albert "Bud" Little of Winterset; a sister, June Imogene Little of Winterset, four grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren & several step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Heart Connection Cancer Programs in memory of his grandson, Daron Allen.
