Hazel Reinert Collier

Hazel Reinert Collier, 101, died September 22, 2004 at the Thorne Care Center, Wesley Towers, Hutchinson, Ks. Funeral services were held Sept. 25 and graveside services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Earlham Cemetery with Pastor James N. Louk officiating.

She was born on May 6, 1903 in Waukee to Delbert and Susie Smithson Mullins. A longtime Madison County, Iowa resident and a Hutchinson resident since 1992, Mrs. Collier was a housemother at Kappa Alpha Theta Soroity at Drake University for a few years and was also a homemaker. She belonged to the Union Park United Methodist Church in Des Moines, an Eastern Star member and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, joining in 1919.

On January 25, 1923, she married Leo M. Reinert in Greenfield, who passed away January 9, 1957. Hazel then went on to marry Leo E. Collier on Dec. 16, 1961 in Blair, NE. Mr. Collier passed away May 26, 1986.

Mrs. Collier is survived by her son, Carroll D. and his wife, Betty Reinert of Hutchinson; two stepsons, James Collier of Medford, Or and John Collier and his wife, Ann of Mukiteo,Wa; two grandchildren, Patricia Bass of Littleton, Co., and Ellen Shook of Lakewood, Co; two step-grand-cildren, John Collier of Lake Forrest Park, Wa. and Carol Collier of Portland, Or; three great-
grandchildren; and a step-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by eight brothers & sisters

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Union Park United Methodist Church, Des Moines
