TIM OSBORN Dies AT 62

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, February 5 at 1:30 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church in Winterset for Irvin "Tim" Jed Osborn, who died Monday, February 2, 1976, of a cerebral hemorrhage at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Tim Osborn was 62 years old at the time of his death. He managed Tim's Club Cafe, an institution among businesses on the east side of the square in Winterset.

Born October 2, 1913, in Shannon City, Iowa, Tim Osborn was the son of Samuel Osborn and Flora Werner Osborn. His marriage to Viola Mae Foster took place July 21, 1940, in Princeton, Missouri.

A resident of Madison County for 45 years, Tim Osborn began in the restaurant business locally with his employment for Ezra Deardorff at the age of seventeen.

Tim Osborn was affiliated with the Methodist Church. He was the first post commander of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the American Legion and the Iowa Restaurant Association and he helped organize the first Little League teams in Winterset.

Surviving Tim Osborn is his wife, Mrs. Viola Osborn and four children, Gary of Des Moines, Scott of Ankeny, Mrs. Karna Dougherty of West Des Moines and Shelley of Des Moines.

Also surviving are five grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Ann Kidd of California, and two brothers, Jack Osborn of California and Kenneth Osborn of Florida.
