Mrs. S. S. McIlree

Mary Cornelia Partridge, eldest daughter of James and Caroline Partridge, was born in Peoria county, Illinois, December 14, 1858, and departed this life, April 16, 1898, at the home of her daughter Mrs. Pearl Robinson, in Marshall, Indiana.

Her girlhood was spent in Illinois, where she was married to Samuel Saulsbury McIlree, and to them were born three children, Mrs. Robinson, Miss Jennie, who has been her mother's constant companion, and Franklin Earl of Omaha, Nebraska.

In the spring of 1903, Mr. and Mrs. McIlree, with their family, moved to Winterset, Iowa, where they lived until he proceeded her to the great beyond, June 2, 1927. For many years she was an invalid. Her suffering was born with great patience. Loneliness was added to her life with the passing of her husband who was a constant and devoted companion.

She was brought back to Winterset and Rev. A. N. Hueser and Rev. W. C. Porter conducted the funeral service in the Tidrick funeral home, Thursday afternoon, April 18, and the interment was in the Winterset cemetery.

Note: Transcribed as published, correct year of death is 1928.
