Death of Mrs. Mary Moore

Mrs. Mary Moore died Sunday, September 9th, at her home in the southwest part of town, after an illness of only four days. She was 81 years of age and had been in good health until last week, when she became ill with intestinal flu and poisoning.

Mrs. Moore was a daughter of William and Mary Duncan, and was born in White county, Indiana, May 20, 1847. She came with her parents to Iowa in 1855. They settled one and a half miles south of Winterset, on what is now known as the Wylie farm. The deceased was united in marriage to Anderson Moore October 20, 1864. To this union were born four children, William Moore and Jeannie Rogers of Winterset; Iva Tompkins who lived in Nebraska until her death in 1922 and Jessie, a twin to Jeannie, who passed away at the age of 2-1/2 years. Mr. Moore died about 15 years ago.

Mrs. Moore leaves besides her family, two sisters, Mrs. Lyda Lucas of New Mexico, and Mrs. Florence Thorp of Denver, Colorado.

The Rev. F. Clare McCallon conducted the funeral services at Tidrick's funeral home, Tuesday, September 11th, at 2:30 o'clock, and burial was made in the Winteret cemetery.
