Wednesday, November 5, 1997Donald Meyer Murry, 76, of Winterset, died of the final stages of poly cythemia vera on Oct. 29, 1997 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Graveside services were Nov. 1 at the Winterset Cemetery. Pastor Steve Koch officiated and burial followed.
He was born in Churdan on May 21, 1921, to Fred and Nettie (Meyer) Murry. On January 23, 1943, he married Elda Carmen Daily in Unionville, Mo. He served in the Armed Forced during WWII, and was a retired postal worker for the United State Government. He lived in Winterset for 51 years coming from Greene County. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Winterset.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and two sisters.
Surviving relatives include his wife of Winterset; two sons, Donald Murry Jr. of Winterset, Steve Murry and partner Lauri Bloss of Winterset; one daughter, Linda Ruth Kuhns and husband Richard of Hollywood,Fla.; one brother, Dale Murry of St. Charles; two sisters, Francis Martin of Winterset and Irma Coen of Winterset; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
