Laura R. Tobeck, Des Moines

Laura R. Tobeck, 77, of Des Moines died of pneumonia Oct. 1, 2001, at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at the Fort Des Moines Church of Christ in Des Moines. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery of rural Chariton. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle.

Laura Tobeck was born Jan. 13, 1924, to George and Tuttise (Harrison) Hulbert of Macksburg. A homemaker, she had lived in Des Moines for the past few years, having previously resided in Indianola and Madison County. Laura was a member of the Fort Des Moines Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur Etter, Harvey Willard and Albert Tobeck.

She is survived by two stepsons, Nolan Etter of Des Moines and Norman Etter of California; two sisters, Helen Burkholder of Winterset and Murial Baber of Carlisle; 21 stepchildren; 52 step grandchildren, 29 step great-grandchildren; and two step great-great grandchildren.
