Wednesday, September 10, 1952Matthew Perkins Died on Tuesday
Matthew M. Perkins, a well known resident of Madison County for many years, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1952,at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. J.Flannery of Douglas township. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Perkins' active years were spent in farming, and as a salesman. While following that latter profession, he lived in Des Moines about 20 years.
He was born in Douglas township, Madison County, On Aug. 30, 1877, the son of Carson and Mary Ann McGee Perkins. On Jan. 2, 1901, he was married to Jessie Mae Rogan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Rogan. Her death occurred several years ago.
He is survived by the daughter, Mrs. Flannery; a son, Paul E. Perkins of Green Bay, Wisc, four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. H. H. McNeil of Indianola.
Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2:30 p.m. from the Richards Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Glenn Parrott, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial will be made in the Winterset Cemetery.
