Mrs. Fred Kuntz Died Saturday

Mrs. Fred V. Kuntz, a life-long resident of this community, died Saturday, July 7, 1962, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. She was 80 years of age and had been in failing health for several years.

Mrs. Kuntz was born July 24, 1881, in Douglas township. She was the former Eathel McDonald, daughter
of Robert F. and Leah C. Ruth McDonald.

She was married May 10, 1904, to Fred V. Kuntz. Their married life was spent farming in Douglas
township, until their retirement, when they moved into Winterset.

In early life, Mrs. Kuntz had united with the First Baptist church of Winterset. Following her marriage, she became a member of the West Star Methodist church, which she served actively,teaching Sunday school, and as a charter member of the Ladies' Aid society. When she moved to Winterset she transferred her membership to the First Methodist church here, and to the Women's Society for Christian Service. In addition to her church activities, she was affiliated with the Qui Vive club.

Mrs. Kuntz is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Katherine Sawyers and Mrs. Blanche
Easter of Winterset, and Mrs. Eunice Hann of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Joe A. McDonald; four grandchildren, Keith Sawyers, William K. Easter, Bruce F. Hann, and Martha E. Hann; and three great-grandsons.

Funeral services were held Monday from the First Methodist church of Winterset, with the Rev. John Porath, pastor, and the Rev. Walter A. Samp officiating. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
