Graveside services for Donald Wayne Ashby, 79, who died May 6 at Wilford Hall Medical Center, Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Tex., were held Thursday, May 10, at the Peru Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Helmers Officiating.
Born in Ft. Scott, Kan., June 4, 1904, he was the son of Neil R. and Edith Hollanshead Ashby. He was a retired colonel in the Air force and was married to Lucille Robinson, who survives.
Other survivors include sons, Donald Wayne Ashby of Columbus, Ohio; and Scott Ashby of Kansas City, Kan.; a stepson, Harold E. Dowler of Camp Springs, Md.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
