OBITUARY OF MABEL E. MCKIBBEN

Mabel E. McKibben, 85, of 1102 S. 11th Street in Oskaloosa, Iowa passed away on Saturday, December 15, 1984 at the Mahaska County Hospital. She was born June 29, 1899 in Griswold, Iowa to parents Rev. D. C. Eddy and Grace Hannah Bartlett. On January 12, 1938 she married Bryon B. McKibben in Newton, Iowa. Bryon died in November, 1954.

Mabel lived most of her life in the Des Moines and Earlham area, moving to Oskaloosa in 1978.

She is survived by a nephew, Don Sparrow of Cedar Rapids who made his home with Mr. and Mrs. McKibben as a child, 4 sisters, Grace Hien and Arvilla Sparrow, both of Oskaloosa, Mrs. Rhoda Culbertson of Hamilton, Illinois and Elsie Meads of Longview, Washington. Also 13 neices and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Arnold G. and Delbert C.

Services were Tuesday, December 18 at 1:00 p.m. at Garland Van Arkel Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Rev. Milo Morris of the Central United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the McKibben Cemetery near Earlham.
