Ella Fogle Henderson Dies at 93 years

Mrs. Ella J. Henderson, a Winterset resident for more than half a century, died Wednesday, Feb. 21 at Memorial Hospital here. She was 93 years of age

Mrs. Henderson was born near Diagonal October 1, 1879. She was the former Ella Jane Jarvis, daughter of Simon and Ellen Lewis Jarvis. On January 10, 1910 she was married at Diagonal to Andrew Fogle. Shortly afterward they came to Winterset where Mr. Fogle served as a music teacher and band master over a long period of years. His death occurred in 1943.

In 1956 she was married to Erle W. Henderson of Winterset. He preceded her in death in 1958.

Mrs. Henderson was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Rebekah Lodge and the Pythian Sisters.

She is survived by two stepsons, Mahlon and Clyde Henderson; and a step daughter, Mrs. Fern Osborn; also several nieces.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the First Presbyterian Church in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Walter Samp. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
