Native of Ohio Had Lived in Madison county for 70 YearsCharles W. Swesey, a resident of Madison county for 70 years, died at Truro Jan. 23. He was 84 years of age.
Mr. Swesey was born in Ohio, Jan. 5, 1860. When he was 10 years old he came to Iowa, and four years later to this county.
He was married to Nettie Miller in 1904. She died three years later; and his second marriage was to Elizabeth Howlette, who preceded him in death, six years ago.
He was a long-time member of the Methodist Church at Truro.
He is survived by three sisters, Anna Swesey of Des Moines, Mrs. Jane Fulton of Payette, Ida., and Mrs. Nettie Porter of Boone.
Funeral services were held Jan. 25 from the Kale Funeral Home in Truro, in charge of the Rev. James A. Worrell. Burial was made in the cemetery there.
