Anjean Chesnut, Winterset

Anjean Chesnut, 88, died Nov. 6, 2002, of multi organ failure at Winterset Care Center South.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 9, at the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset with the Rev. Jim Howland officiating. Burial was at Winterset Cemetery.

Anjean Chesnut was born July 18, 1914, to Hilmer H. and Genevieve (Follett) Nazett of Eldora. A graduate of Eldora High School, she attended Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and a music conservatory in New York. On June 23, 1939, she married Dr. Paul F. Chesnut in Eldora. A resident of Winterset since 1940, Anjean was a member of P.E.O. Chapter AG and the Progressive Study Club. She had been the church organist in the 1950s.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a sister.

She is survived by a daughter, Sally Chesnut Oldham (husband David) of Winterset; a son, Paul "Chip" Chesnut (wife Jeanne) of Osceola; a brother, Richard F. Nazett (wife Joan) of Cedar Rapids; and four grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Madison County Historical Society or the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset.
