CLYDE McKIBBEN

Clyde McKibben, son of Florence and Lewis McKibben was born on a farm north of Earlham in Dallas County November 5, 1872 and passed away in the Breckenridge, Minnesota hospital April 24, 1956 at the age of 83 years, five months and 21 days.

He leaves to mourn his passing four children, Madge (Mrs. Calvin Limbaugh) of Greenfield, Iowa; Pernal of Breckenridge; Doris (Mrs. C. A. Huismann) of Sauk Center, Minnesota and Frank of Breckenridge, also an only brother, Floyd McKibben of Long Beach, California; who was unable to attend the funeral, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

November 25, 1896 he was married to Laura Hightower who passed away May 17, 1940.

His early life was spent on farms around Earlham. In 1921 he moved with his family to Wilkin County in Minnesota where he spent the remaining years of his life making his home with his son, Pernal after the death of his wife.

He was a member of the Hickory Grove Church, north of Earlham, later transferring his membership to the Methodist church at Messena where he lived for a few years.

On April 6, 1956 he was victim of a stroke which left his right side paralized. Complications set in and he passed away at 12:35 p.m. April 24th.

Mr. McKibben was a sincere Christian man and numbered his friends by the people he met.

Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church in Breckenridge, Minnesota April 28, 1956 with burial in Sunnyside Cemetery there, beside his wife.
