A funeral mass for Patrick Carl McNamara, 59, was held Sat., Jan. 4 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Father Frank Palmer officiating; and a Scripture service and Rosary were held Friday evening. Mr. McNamara died January 1 of cancer at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.

A lifetime Winterset resident, he was born March 24, 1935 to Francis Eugene and Mary Jane (Brown) McNamara in Winterset. He married Marilyn June Cline on June 8, 1957 in Winterset. He had worked as motor freight manager and in shipping for Brown Line Motorfreight for 30 years and worked at EAC/Eaton Technologies for the past three years.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Winterset Lions Club, Winterset Athletic Booster Club, American Legion of Winterset and St. Joseph's Parish Council.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Terence P. McNamara of Algona; a daughter Anne M. Kimmick of San Diego, Calif.; and a brother, Nicholas J. McNamara of West Des Moines.

Burial was at Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Winterset Athletic Booster Club or the Lillard-Miller Scholarship Fund.

Patrick Carl McNamara, 56, of Winterset died of cancer Wednesday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at Winterset Cemetery.

Mr. McNamara lived in Winterset all his life and worked for Brown Line Motor Freight and EAC Technology. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the Catholic Church and Parish Council, American Legion, Lions Club and Winterset Athletic Booster Club.

Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; a son, Terence of Algona; a daughter, Ann Kimmick of San Diego, Calif.; and a brother, Nicholas of West Des Moines.

Collins Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
