December 1970ANNA BARNETT
Anna Barnett was born near Earlham, Iowa, November 14, 1882 and passed away, peacefully in her sleep on December 18, 1970 at the home of her daughter in Glenview, Illinois, where she had lived for the past ten years.
She was married to Charles Barnett June 5, 1901 and this union was broken by his death in 1947. Her only daughter, Eilene, her God and her Bible has been her tower of strength for these past 23 years.
While she lived here in Earlham, she was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church, the Women's Society of Christian Service, the Women's Christian Temperance Union and the Order of Easten Star. Though she had a happy, full life away from Earlham she never lost sight, interest or love for her many devoted friends here.
Her greatest joy in life was her family and her genuine concern for others. Her Bible and her prayers surely sustained her through many serious illnessses (illnesses).
She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Eilene Oeth, three grandsons, Wayne, Peter and Pat; five great grandchildren, a sister Mary Shifflett, two brothers Silas and Nate, many loving nieces and nephews and a host of true devoted friends in both Iowa and Illinois.
Her kind and loving son-in-law Ole Oeth was always her "pillar of support" these many years. She loved and appreciated him dearly.
