Benjamin Binns

Benjamin Binns was born in 1830 in the city of Wakefield, Yorkshire, England and departed this life Dec. 10, 1925 at the age of 95 years and 13 days.

He was married to Hannah Fernside in the year 1850. To this union three sons were born.

He immigrated to America in the year 1858 coming to Oskaloosa, Iowa. He moved to Madison County in 1886 residing on a farm in Webster township until 1912 when he returned to Oskaloosa, where he rested until his death. He wife preceded him in death in the year 1911, also one son Nathan in 1924.

He is survived by two sons William Binns of Oskloosa and Shaw Binns of Madison County, thirty-
six grand-children and fifty-one great grandchildren.

At the time of his death he was a member of St. James Episcopal church of Oskaloosa, also a member of the Masonic Order for fifty years. He was sick only one week.

Funeral service were held at St. James Methodist Episcopal Church at Oskaloosa on Sunday the 13th conducted by his pastor. Interment at Moslam, Oskaloosa.
