Helen Howell, Winterset

Helen F. Howell, 90, of Winterset, died of a heart ailment Oct. 11, 1995 at Winterset Care Center North. Funeral services were Oct. 14 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. The Rev. Don Frank officiated the services and burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

She was born in Madison County on Sept. 27, 1905 to Charles Henry and Myrtle (Ford) Kuntz. She married Garland Howell on March 24, 1925 in Jackson Township. She was a homemaker and a ifetime resident of Madison County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. She was also a member of the Columbian Club; Current Topic Club; Farm Bureau; Federation of Women's Club; United Methodist Women; Lifetime member of the Madison County Historical Society; and a former member of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Donald Howell and wife Dawn of Scottsdale, Arizona., and Paul Howell of Richmond, Ky.; one daughter Helen Clare Jordan and husband Carl of Blue Ridge, Penn.; one brother Frederick Kuntz of Des Moines; two sisters Genevieve Hart and Ruth Hart, both of Winterset, nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the First United Methodist Church of Winterset.
