Earlham Echo - March 7, 1985

William C. Ramsey, son of Homer and Grace Ramsey, passed away March 1, 1985 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Bill was born September 30, 1918 at Earlham, Iowa.

He attended school in Earlham, Panora and Linden and was united in marriage to Eileen Price September 30, 1939. To this union were born two sons: Rodney and Douglas.

The family lived in California for 18 years, where Bill was an appliance service technician. He later managed mobile home parks in California and Colorado before returning to Earlham where he operated the Ramsey Sharp Shop. Many of his hours were spent transporting senior citizens to congregate meals.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Hugh and Vernon and two sisters: Lora and Esther. His survivors are his wife Eileen, sons: Rodney of Earlham and Douglas of Lakewood, California, five grandchildren: Marty of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Murray of Ames, Denise of Earlham, David and Daniel of Fountain Valley, California, one great granddaughter, Collin of Albuquerque, New Mexico, also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held, Monday, March 4 at the Earlham Friends Church with Reverend Eldon Cole officiating. Organ music was provided by Irene Cole. Pallbearers were Glen Ramsey, Jim Ramsey, Bill Benson, Craig Price, Don Ramsey and Lyle Ramsey. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa
