Page 1Death of Henry T. Rench
Henry Theodore Rench died Monday, November 26th, at his home, southeast of Winterset, after an extended illness with heart trouble and other complications. Mr Rench was 63 years of age, and had lived in this county for the past three years.
The deceased was a son of John and Martha Rench, and was born in Jones county, December 11, 1863. In 1892, he moved with his parents to Calhoun county. There he was married to Miss Mary Augusta Strain, September 2, 1894, where they resided on a farm. Mr. Rench had been in poor health during the past ten months. He had been in the Methodist hospital in Des Moines a number of weeks, receiving treatment, and had later returned to have an operation. His condition was found to be too weak, so he was again brought to his home.
A family of four children and his wife survive him: Miss Hazel, who teaches at Brockport, New York; Mrs. Martha Rose of St. Charles; Harry of Racine, Wisconsin, and Ethel Covington of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also leaves two brothers, Albert of Carroll; Wilbur of Lake City, and two sisters, Mrs. Will Beattie of Lake View, and Mrs. Fanny Smith of Davenport.
The Rev. W. C. Porter will conduct funeral services at the Union Chapel church this morning (Thursday) at 10:30 o'clock, and burial will be made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
