He was married to Miss Ruth Pope May 14, 1876, and to this union were born thirteen children. Two died in infancy, and one daughter, Mrs. Phoebe Little, passed away in 1927. The surviving children are Oscar of Sheldon, Wisconsin; Samuel of Pine River, Minnesota; Oliver and Mrs. Grace Willard of McComb, Illinois; Chancy and Mrs. Rachel Wiggins of Pocahontas; Charles of Merrill; Mrs. Frances Foley of Adair county, and Henry and James in the home.
