Mary H. Griffith Rites Wednesday

Mary H. Griffith, a life-long resident of Madison County, died Sunday, March 30, 1980, at her home in Winterset at the age of 60.

Born on May 4, 1919, in St. Charles, she was the daughter of Harry T. and Kathryn T. Luke Houston. She was united in marriage to Paul L. Griffith on Oct. 30, 1940, in Winterset. Mrs. Griffith was a member of St. Joseph's Altar and Rosary Society and the Third Order of St. Francis.

Surviving are her husband Paul; three children, Phillip L. Griffith of Steamboat Village, Colo.; Linda J. Smith of Des Moines and Shirley Cunningham of rural Winterset; four grandchildren; a brother, Franklin Houston of Des Moines; and a sister, Arnetha Bock of St. Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard.

A rosary was held at 7:30 p.m. Apr. 1 at Collins Funeral Home. Funeral Services were at 10 A.M. Wed. Apr. 2, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Gene Cunningham officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.
