Page 1Death of Mrs. Marion Goodson
Van Meter, February 28. Special - Mrs. Marion Goodson died Friday morning at the Kings Daughters hospital in Perry The funeral was held at the Methodist Episcopal church at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. L. Cannom. The burial was at Union Chapel cemetery.
Among those attending the funeral from a distance were Ralph Smith of Davenport; Mr. and Mrs. Will Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Riley Nicolson, and daughter, Will Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Moore and children, and Robert Hiatt, all of Des Moines, and Mr. and Mrs. Willard Reed and children of Ruthven.

Mrs. Marion Goodson
Florence Myrtle Goodson was born July 12, 1897 in Madison county, Iowa and died February 24, 1928.
She was united in marriage to Marion Goodson October 16, 1914. To this union were born five children, John Henry, Lucile, Myrtle, George Edwin and Robert Lee. All are living to mourn the departure of their mother. She also leaves three brothers and two sisters, Bertha Smith, of Booneville; Blanche Wilcox; Clarence Smith and Lawrence Smith, of Donahue, Iowa, also Ralph Smith of Davenport; also many distant relatives and friends.
Mrs. Goodson had been in declining health for about five years, for the past four years she has been unable to care for her family, but will always be remembered for her patient and kind disposition.
Funeral services were held Sunday at two o’clock in the M. E. church conducted by Rev. W. L. Cannom, pastor and burial made in the family burying ground at Chapel cemetery.
