December 13, 1928 - page 1Death of Frank B. Doan
Frank B. Doan, who has been ill for several months, died Saturday, December 8th, at his home in Winterset, at the age of 45 years. Mr. Doan was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. William Doan, and was born in Patterson. When he was six months of age he was stricken with spinal meningitis, which left him an invalid. In spite of his suffering he enjoyed life and was devoted to his mother, whom he was able to assist at times.
Nine weeks ago his condition became much worse, and he has been confined to his bed constantly. It is said that he was conscious until the last and that he was ever kind to those who assisted in his care.
He leaves besides his mother, Mrs. William Doan, two brothers, D. M. and W. A. Doan of Winterset; three sisters, Mrs. E. T. Knowles of Carlisle; Mrs. F. M. Sowash of Osceola; and Mrs. C. A. Clark of Barney. The Rev. F. Clare McCallon conducted the funeral services at the home, Monday afternoon, December 10th, at two o'clock, and burial was made in the Union Chapel cemetery.
