Page 1Death of Mrs. Ellen Simpson
St. Charles. November 6. Special - Mrs. Ellen Simpson, who has been ill for several months, died at her home, north of St. Charles, last Tuesday, October 30th. She was sixty years of age, having been born May 31st, 1868. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Black.
She was married to Jim Simpson, December 18, 1895, and to them were born five children. Two daughters, Ethel and Grace, and Mr. Simpson survive her. She also leaves four brothers, William, Riley, Aleck, who was her twin brother, and Frank Black, and three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Steel of Kansas; Mrs. Mollie Shutt and Mrs. Anna Collins of St. Charles.
Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church, Friday, November 2, by the pastor, the Rev. F. G. Barnes, and her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery west of town.
