Page 4St. Charles. July 30. Special - Mrs. Margaret Armstrong died at her home in St. Charles, last Saturday evening about 11:30 o'clock. Her death came as a distinct shock to her friends and relatives, because she had been in seemingly good health previous to her death.
She was a librarian and had been in the library during the afternoon. She had gone home at a late hour, taking some groceries and meat with her. She had lived alone since the death of her husband in 1919, and resided in a small house, near the Ed R. Beitzeil and H. A. Mueller homes. Mr. Mayo, who rooms at the Beitzeil home, was passing the Armstrong house, when he heard an outcry for help. He immediately called the Beitzeils and the Mueller family, and when they reached the porch, where she was reclining on the porch swing, she was unable to speak. Both of the doctors were called and when they examined her they pronounced her dead.
Funeral services were held in the M. E. church Tuesday, July 31st, by the Rev. F. G. Barnes, and burial was made in the cemetery west of town.
She leaves one daughter, Mrs. E. E. Williams of Des Moines, and one son, Earl of Muscatine; a sister and a brother and other relatives in Indiana.
