Amel Priest, Peru

Amel Forest Priest, 86, of Peru died June 4, 1994 at Madison County Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were June 7, 1994 at the United Methodist Church in Peru. The Rev. Terri Elder of Truro officiated with burial at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Madison County.

He was born Nov. 10, 1907 in Peru to John and Maggie (Travis) Priest. He married Lucile Elizabeth Dutton in Creston on March 5, 1938. He was a farmer and a life-time resident in the Peru area and of Madison County. He was a Boy Scout leader for 15 years and a member of the Peru Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife; and one foster son.

Surviving relatives include one sister, Neva Draper and husband Clair E. of Des Moines; and one foster-daughter-in-law, Arlinda Parker and son Lyle of North Carolina.
