Opal Crow, Winterset

Services for Opal Crow, 84, Winterset, who died Dec. 18, 1984, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital, were held Dec. 20 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Shaull officiating. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery.

Born in Madison County on Nov. 10, 1900, she was the daughter of Thomas and Nora Smith Phillips. She had lived in this area all her life and had recently made her residence at the Care Center South. On March 3, 1920, she married Wayne Crow. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Kensington Club and the Kitchen Band.

Survivors include sons, Nelson of Clarinda and James of Peoria, Ill; a daughter, Norma Jean (Mrs. Phillip) Hildebrand of Des Moines; brothers, Wallace Phillips of Milton, Fla; Leslie Phillips of Adel; and Cecil Phillips of Winterset; sisters Ruby Carter of Pleasantville and Mabel Mitchell of Greenfield; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother and an infant sister.
