Mrs. Jennie Williams, formerly of Madison County and Winterset, died last Friday, Sept. 23, 1955, at Los Angeles, Calif. where she had been living the last 10 years. She was 88 years of age.

Mrs. Williams was the former Jennie May Black, daughter of James H. and Charlotte Black. She was born in Madison County March 9, 1867. Her early life was spent on a farm west of Winterset.

She was married in 1888 to Lee McGee. They made their home in Colorado for many years, and were parents of one daughter, Lena.

She returned to Winterset to make her home in this community for about 20 years. Her second marriage to James E. Williams, occurred in 1930. He died in 1943. For the last 10 years she has made her home in Los Angeles with her daughter, Lena McGee.

In addition to her daughter, she leaves a sister, Mrs. Corgie Brown, and a brother, Harry Black, both of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Richards Funeral Home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz, pastor of the Winterset Methodist Church. Burial was made in the Winterset Cemetery.
