Evelyn Glee Kephart, 70, of Leon died of a kidney ailment Nov. 12, 1998, at Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Rev. Jack Stark officiating. Burial was at Peru Cemetery.
Evelyn Kephart was born Feb. 19, 1928 in Macksburg to George and Tuttise Lavita (Harrison) Hulbert. She married Alvin Martin Kephart on Jan. 6, 1950, in Grant City, Mo. She lived in Leon the past year, having spent most of her lifetime in Madison County. Evelyn was a homemaker and retired nurse's aide.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, stepmother, one brother and two sisters.
She is survived by two sons, George Post (wife Jennifer) of Harlan and Alvin Kephart Jr. (wife Sandy) of Mercer, Mo.; three sisters, Laura Tobeck of Des Moines, Helen Burkholder of Winterset and Billie Baber of Carlisle; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
