Nile McKibben, the son of Harry and Inez Garrett McKibben, was born May 5, 1912 in Dallas County, Iowa. He passed away at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, on March 17, 1980, after a short illness.
Nile was a lifetime resident of this area with the exception of a few years when he lived in Des Moines. He was a graduate of DeSoto High School.
On December 26, 1934, Nile was united in marriage to Waive Cron in Unionville, Missouri. Two sons, Darrell and Darwin, blessed their marriage.
Prior to his retirement Nile was employed by the Garner Publishing Company of Des Moines for the past 15 years.
Survivors include his loving wife, Waive; two sons, Darrell of Houston, Texas and Darwin of Rowland Heights, California; one granddaughter, Leslie, and three grandsons, Scott, Sammy and Shawn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were conducted March 21, 1980 at the United Methodist Church in Earlham with the Rev. Walter Sieck, the Rev. Joel Budd and the Rev. Jerry Chiaramonte officiating. Organ music was provided by Mrs. Gretchen Brittain. Pallbearers were his brother-in-law, Allen Cron, Fletcher Cron, Bart Cron, Merle Cron, Jerry Cron and Larry Cron. Interment was in Earlham Cemetery, Earlham, Iowa.
