Claire Leeper, Winterset

A memorial service for Claire Leeper, 83, was held Thurs. June 25 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Jones and the Rev. Everett Burham officiating. Mr. Leeeper died June 23,1992, at Madison County Memorial Hospital.

A Madison County resident for most of his life, he was born July 14, 1908 in Dexter to Frank A. and Lillian(Morford)Leeper and married Fern Toney on February 8, 1975 in Winterset. He was a farmer, former Madison County Supervisor and a member of the Winterset Lions Club and First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, N. Mertice Leeper and an infant brother.

Surviving are his wife, Fern; a son Ronald Ray Leeper of Winterset; a step-son, Dennis Toney of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Francia Claire Koehn of Cumming; a sister Eileen Clarke of Stuart, a brother, Merle J. Leeper of Earlham; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Burial was at Penn Center Cemetery.Collins Funeral Home handled arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church.
