Charles A. McMurray of Winterset died Saturday, June 16, 1984, at Bethesda Care Center, at the age of 95. Funeral services were held Monday morning, June 18, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset with Dr. Paul Hann officiating. Burial was at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Indianola.
Born Sept. 9, 1888, in Warren County, he was the son of John H. and Manecia Ellen Barr McMurray. He married Iva M. Beeler on June 9, l9l0 in Beaver City, Nev.
A resident of Madison County since 1922, McMurray held the position of Madison County Treasurer until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne of Independence, Ore., Robert of South Gate, Calif.; one daughter Esther Mozingo of Prescott, Ariz., and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and an infant son Chester.
